AhlulBayt News Agency: A scholarly conference on the narratives of Nahj al-Balaghah was held in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq.

The Department of Reviving Heritage and Dar-ul-Ulum of Nahj al-Balagha, affiliated to the Astan (Custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine organized the event.

According to Lawa al-Atiyah, head of the Dar-ul-Ulum, the participating scholars examined one of the most important narratives of Nahj al-Balagha, adding that the purpose of the conference was to examine the styles of Isnad (act of relating the chain of authorities who have transmitted a Hadith) in Nahj al-Balagha.

It was also aimed at reviving the legacy of Imam Ali (AS) and highlighting the manuscripts of Nahj al-Balagha in Islamic societies given their great influence over the centuries, he noted.

At the conference, seminary scholar Sheikh Arkan Al-Menahwi presented his research, in which he has examined the accuracy of the narrative.

He also thanked the Astan for paying attention to the Islamic heritage and promoting research on major Islamic books, including Nahj al-Balagha, Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh, and Imam Sajjad’s (AS) Risalat al-Huquq (treatise of rights).

Nahj al-Balagha is a collection of sermons, precepts, prayers, epistles and aphorisms of Imam Ali (AS) compiled by al-Sayyid al-Sharif al-Radi about one thousand years ago.
