AhlulBayt News Agency: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched a massive barrage of ballistic missiles and drones at Israeli-occupied territories late Monday as part of the ongoing Operation True Promise III.
The large-scale retaliatory operation, initiated on Friday night, is being carried out under the code name “Ya Ali ibn Abi Talib”.
Israeli media reported that sirens sounded across northern, central, and southern regions of the occupied territories after Iran began the ninth phase of its operation.
The attack followed an Israeli airstrike on a building of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) in northern Iran, which was widely condemned as a war crime.
According to sources, this phase of Operation True Promise III is expected to be longer and more intense than the previous eight phases, which began Friday night in response to Israeli military aggression against Iran.
That aggression led to the assassination of several high-ranking Iranian military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians, including women and children.
Reports indicate that Israeli authorities have banned live broadcasts of the Iranian operation, restricting settlers from sharing images or videos to avoid further embarrassment for the regime’s military.
Despite the restrictions, leaked social media footage showed panic-stricken settlers hiding in underground shelters as missiles and drones struck occupied territories.
Some reports suggest that traffic cameras across Israeli-controlled areas have been turned off.
A significant development during this phase of Operation True Promise III was the malfunction of an Israeli interceptor missile, which tumbled down before Iranian missiles reached Tel Aviv.
In a statement, an IRGC spokesperson confirmed that the operation would continue until dawn with an uninterrupted barrage of missiles and drones.
The spokesperson described this phase as hybrid, involving both missile and drone strikes.
Over the past 72 hours, the IRGC aerospace division has targeted 545 Israeli military sites with offensive drones across occupied territories, and the operation is set to continue.
On Sunday, Iran’s armed forces issued a stern warning to settlers in occupied territories, advising them to evacuate immediately for their safety.
Colonel Reza Sayyad, spokesperson for Iran’s Armed Forces Communications Center, warned settlers that remaining in the area would put their lives in grave danger as Iran prepares for a crushing retaliation against Israeli military aggression.
The operation follows Israeli attacks on Iran that began Friday morning, resulting in the assassinations of several high-ranking Iranian military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians, including children and women.
Among the martyrs are Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces; IRGC Commander-in-Chief Hossein Salami; Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, head of the IRGC aerospace division; General Gholam Ali Rashid, senior IRGC commander; and Brigadier General Mohammad Kazemi, head of IRGC intelligence.
Nuclear scientists Dr. Fereydoon Abbasi, Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, and Dr. Abdolhamid Minoucher were also martyred in separate attacks.
Before the operation began, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei warned that Israel had made a “big mistake, a grave error” by targeting civilian areas in Iran and stated that the consequences would “ruin them”.
