Gaza’s healthcare system collapsing amid continued Israeli attacks

The healthcare system in Gaza remains in crisis as Israeli attacks have targeted at least 10 hospitals and medical centers, forcing them to partially or completely shut down.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The healthcare system in Gaza remains in crisis as Israeli attacks have targeted at least 10 hospitals and medical centers, forcing them to partially or completely shut down.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there have been 28 assaults on hospitals in Gaza in the past week alone, making up 4 percent of all recorded attacks on medical facilities since the war began on October 7, 2023. The Gaza Health Ministry has warned that nearly 400,000 residents now lack access to essential medical services.

According to Iran Press, WHO also reported that over 10,000 patients, including 4,500 children, urgently require evacuation from Gaza to receive necessary treatment. Children in the besieged enclave face continuous bombardment and are deprived of healthcare, basic necessities, and humanitarian support.

UNICEF has raised concerns about the worsening conditions in Gaza over the past two months due to Israel’s ongoing blockade, which has prevented vital humanitarian aid from entering.

Since the start of the war, the Palestinian death toll has surpassed 53,000, with more than 122,000 injured. Despite a two-month ceasefire, Israel resumed its military operations in Gaza on March 18, yet has failed to achieve its objectives of eliminating Hamas and securing the release of captives.
