The Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) has arranged weekly Quran programs worldwide on the auspicious occasion of the arrival of Ramadan.

Over 140 different programs are scheduled to be performed in weekly events in collaboration with Iran’s cultural offices in foreign countries, ICRO cultural department director Mahmud Vaezi told the Persian service of Fars.

Inviting Quran reciters, holding exhibits on Quranic software, Quran competitions, training of Quran instructors, as well as publishing and translating books on the Holy Quran are some of the programs, Vaezi added.

The Quran weekly programs will begin in Afghanistan on August 27 and will continue in Lebanon, Kenya, Indonesia, and in other countries.

Several organizations including the Islamic Ideology Dissemination Organization (IIDO), the State Endowment and Charity Affairs Organization, and Astan-e Qods Razavi Organization are among the cosponsors.
