(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces on Sunday violently attacked the participants in the funeral procession of Ahmed Halawa, who had been lynched recently by PA security officers in al-Junaid jail in Nablus city.

According to local sources, violent clashes broke out during the funeral procession before its arrival at the eastern cemetery in Nablus.

The events started when PA soldiers fired several shots in the air and showered the mourners with tear gas.

Consequently, dozens of mourners suffered from inhaling tear gas and were evacuated by ambulance crews to hospitals.

During the skirmishes, the PA forces demanded the citizens through loudspeakers to disperse and return home, claiming that a gathering of more than seven people was illegal and would be treated as an act of riot.
