AhlulBayt News Agency - A Russian military chopper crashed in the northeastern countryside of the Idlib Governorate on Monday after flying over Jaysh Al-Fateh’s positions near the city of Saraqib.

A Russian Mi-8 helicopter has been shot down by ground fire in Syria following delivery of humanitarian supplies to Aleppo, the Defense Ministry said in a statement. The three crew and two officers from Russia's reconciliation center were returning to base.

The condition of those on board has yet to be established, the ministry said.

"On August 1, an Mi-8 transport helicopter has been shot down by ground fire in Idlib province after a delivery of humanitarian aid to the city of Aleppo. Three crew members and two officers from the Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria were on board," the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

Based on the footage released by the jihadist rebels of Jaysh Al-Fateh, the Russian pilot was killed during the crash site at the small hilltop of Tal Sultan.

Upon discovering the Russian pilot’s body in northeast Idlib, the takfiri rebels savagely desecrated his remains by dragging his corpse on the ground.

It is still not clear whether or not the takfiri rebels shot down the Russian aircraft; however, the Gulf-backed “moderates” do possess anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM).
