AhlulBayt News Agency - The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” (Al-Hamza Brigade) have arrived to the Al-Sha’ar Gas Fields in northeast Homs to help drive back the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) that threatened this important area over the last 48 hours.
Unlike past offensives, the Tiger Forces are not just expelling ISIS from Jabal Al-Sha’ar (Al-Sha’ar Mountains), but also, from the nearby mountaintops that they entrench themselves in after being forced out by the government forces.
According to a military source from the Tiger Forces, the Al-Hamza Brigade have redeployed as many as 600 soldiers to the Al-Sha’ar Gas Fields from the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor Highway – over 1,000 soldiers still remain along this major roadway.
The source also added that the counter-offensive is expected to be launched in the next 72 hours.
