AhlulBayt News Agency - The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” are rolling in the eastern countryside of Palmyra (Tadmur) today, targeting the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists along two axes while the Russian Air Force provides support from above.
According to a military source at the T-4 Military Airport, the Tiger Forces – backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Liwaa Al-Fatemiyyoun (Afghani paramilitary) – seized more wells near the ‘Arak Gas Fields after a violent battle with the ISIS terrorists in east Palmyra.
In addition to their assault at the ‘Arak Gas Fields, the Tiger Forces and their allies are also advancing along the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor Highway, capturing more territory from the ISIS terrorists, despite the prevalence of roadside bombs.
The Syrian Armed Forces are quickly closing in on the desert town of ‘Arak, thanks in large part to the aerial assistance from the Russian Air Force.
If ‘Arak is liberated by the Syrian Armed Forces, then the next step will be the oil rich town of Al-Sukhanah.
