A source in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday, that eight people had been either killed or wounded in a bomb blast near a fruits and vegetables market in southern Baghdad.
“This morning, a bomb exploded near Rasheed fruits and vegetables market in Abu Dshir neighborhood in al-Darwa District in southern Baghdad, killing one person and injuring five others,” the source said.
The source, who asked anonymity, added, “A security force rushed to the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment and the dead body to the forensic medicine department, while a raid was carried out to search for the perpetrators of the bombing.”
