AhlulBayt News Agency - The International Media of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine and with cooperation from the UK-based Integrity Association have hosted a delegation of Europe’s top Sunni clerics for converging the Islamic sects and revealing ISIS’ reality. This one-of-a-kind visit comes in the wake of terrorist acts and false propaganda by ISIS to destroy this nation as they hope for the Iraq’s division into territories for each sect, leading the world to think that it is a sectarian war.
Sheikh Muhammad Omar ibn Ramadan, head of the delegation and Chairman of Ramadan Foundation in the UK stated, “The purpose of our visit is to clarify to the world that what is currently happening in Iraq is against the Sunni belief and we condemn all terrorists acts. It is our duty to confront and battle this takfiri cancer physically and ideologically through uniting together with our Shia brothers,” referring to ISIS as “the Khawarij (Rebels) of this era”.
“We aspire to establish an international conference, with cooperation from the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, where we would bring together the world’s top Islamic scholars from different sects in order to expose ISIS and its corrupt ideology to the whole world,” added Ramadan.
One of the roles of the International Media of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, alongside its print and electronic media, is hosting prominent journalists from around the world to Iraq for a tour to several cities for the purpose of conveying the truth of what is happening as well as proving false what is being portrayed in opposing media.
The delegation of Sunni Muslim scholars from Britain visited the Imam Hussein Holy shrine on March 3, 2016.
Mohammed Umer Bin Ramadhan, head of delegation, said at a conference: “Your war against ISIS is our war, but it is Islam’s war against the unbelievers (those who are against humanity)”.
He also said that ISIS is the group of rebels of this time, and Sunni Muslims have nothing to do with any acts they commit. He added that Sunni and Shia Muslims have lived together in peace for more than a thousand years, and such groups like ISIS can never separate them, even if they call themselves Muslims.
After visiting some holy shrines, the delegation met with some Shia Muslim religious authorities in Nejaf city, and some Sunni scholars in Baghdad.
