AhlulBayt News Agency - Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, attended conference on methodology for political interpretation of Holy Qur’an expanding his views on understanding and interpretation of the holy book of Islam.
He said,” There is law to understand a text and this understanding means to know the objective of the producer in creation of a text and this is the creator who has the best judgment on his text.”
He noted that one of the ways to hermeneutics of Qur’an is to know the laws of objectives saying,” In understanding the political objectives of Qur’an, to abide by the law of full command of the book is very important, meaning, the interpreter should know if a certain verse in the holy book has a complementary verse in another part of Qur’an.”
Ayatollah Araki in another part of his speech referred to methodology for political interpretation of Qur’an as the second principle for achieving correct understanding of religion and politics and stressed to provide a political interpretation of Qur’an, we should clarify the meaning of politics and religion.
He said,” A responsibility of prophets was to reveal their ruling and also to reveal the responsibility of the people to obey their rules.”
He added that politics is the techniques for ruling and obedience and this ruling should bring discipline and just to society.
According to the cleric the most important political pillar in Qur’an is to recognize the innate right of God Almighty for ruling and stressed Shia view for a person who should rule that people saying,” According to Shia Islam, a person who intends to rule the people should receive the order from God Almighty while in Christianity and Judaism God has given the right to human being and that means retirement of God.”
Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought highlighted capabilities of Islam to be globalized and stressed that the laws in the holy book of Islam should be explained to all people.”
