AhlulBayt News Agency - The abductor of two Iranian drivers recently kidnapped in Afghanistan's Herat region has been arrested, says Afghan police spokesman.
'The Afghan police has arrested the kidnapper identified as Vali son of Sakhi who abducted two Iranian drivers three month ago,' Abdolraouf Ahmadi told the Islamic Republic News Agency in a phone conversation on Sunday.
'The arrested man has confessed to his crime,' Ahmadi added.
According to the police official, though the abducted Iranians were released soon, but the kidnapper was at large.
The police arrested the man on Saturday in Quddusabad village in Kohsan neighborhood and he is under investigation, he said.
Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the national unity government of Afghanistan recently told IRNA that a delegation has been dispatched to Herat to examine the abduction issue and put in place appropriate measures to address the problem.
