British Muslims in Newcastle invite locals for Iftar

In the spirit of Ramadan, a Muslim community in Newcastle, England, invited their local community to break their fast together.

In the spirit of Ramadan, a Muslim community in Newcastle, England, invited their local community to break their fast together.

The Islamic Diversity Centre (IDC) has held an annual Iftar event which took place last week in suburban Walbottle, Newcastle.

A breaking of the fast event held by the Muslim community in Newcastle saw an invite extended to the local community of Walbottle.

As reported in the Chronicle Live, Newcastle city Councillor Dipu Ahad was also one of those who took part in the event.

“It shows what Islam is about. It’s about giving, about being tolerant, about the community and being a good citizen,” Ahad said.

IDC North East is an organization that describes itself as an organization comprised of enthusiastic, vibrant and friendly Muslims eager to share the true message of Islam.

The group says it is committed to clarifying misconceptions and devoted to challenging stereotypes.
