Muslims in America doesn't want fallen soldiers honored on Memorial Day

The Muslim Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has decided that Memorial Day should not honor those American soldiers who have died, instead, it should honor those Muslim terrorists who were killed by American soldiers.

May 25, 2015 was a day set aside to honor the many millions of Americans who gave the ultimate sacrifice to our country in the name of freedom. A staff writer for TPNN wrote on May 25 that the “Council on American-Islamic Relations” (CAIR) decided not to honor them. They chose instead to honor Muslims, including terrorist, who have been killed by Americans.

This organization has been classified as part of the Muslim Brotherhood which is an organization with cells throughout the US as being engaged in financing terrorism. This is not surprising to most people but what is surprising is their claim to being Americans. They claim to be a “moderate” organization, but they raise funds for those who are not.

Zahra Billoo, who is the executive director of the San Francisco Bay group, tweeted that she struggles with Memorial Day each year as to whether or not she should honor U.S. Soldiers who died in war. She should take a look around her and see the benefits she enjoys in this country as a citizen that were earned by the blood, sweat, and tears of fallen Americans.

She also sent a Tweet to the Michigan group asking if they should be honoring American soldiers who died in “unjust” wars and occupations in Afghanistan and Iraq. Her Tweet reads as follows: “If one dies in an unjust war in which we illegally invaded and occupied a sovereign nation, should that person be honored? Odd that she would include herself in the “we.”

Dawud Walid of the Michigan group responds that America is fundamentally a racist nation and says that inequalities will never be dismantled while “we” extol myths and will not discuss the racism attached to the founding of this nation. You can read more of his responses at TPNN. Note once again the name of their organization, Council on American-Islamic Relations.

The staff writer for TPNN responds with a statement made by Dr. Ziuhdi Jasser that takes issue with this stand. TPNN reports that he served in the U.S. Navy and said, “It is plain to see, however, that they [CAIR] have nothing but disdain for our armed forces. We do hope that Muslim members of the U.S. military realize that CAIR sees you as ‘occupiers,’ not patriots protecting the freest nation on earth.”

TPNN staff writer reports the Clarion Project as saying. “Nonetheless, in that freest nation on earth, which is protected by brave men and women who sacrifice their lives so all have the freedom to voice their opinions, some people knife in the back the very people who assure them their freedom to speak.”

The Clarion Project’s mantra is: “Challenging Extremism: Promoting Dialogue.”
