AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): In an exclusive interview with AhlulBayt (a.s.) News Agency – ABNA on the sidelines of the Martyrs’ Funeral Media Committee meeting in Beirut, prominent Lebanese experts, spoke about the characteristics, the necessity of a special ceremony, and the preparations for this historic funeral.
In this session, Ramzi Abdul Khaleq, editor-in-chief of Lebanon’s Al-Binaa newspaper, told ABNA’s correspondent, “Despite the severe blow we have suffered, the most significant of which was the loss of Sayed Hassan and Sayed Hashem, we have achieved great victories. The sacrifices made by the children of the Resistance and the resilient people of southern Lebanon are remarkable. These sacrifices will undoubtedly lead to future victories.”
The Lebanese expert added, “In the media sphere and news coverage, undoubtedly, a large number of journalists from Lebanon and abroad, representing Arab and international institutions, will be covering this event. This incident and occasion are of great significance. What you are witnessing are the efforts of the High Committee for Organizing the Funeral Procession, which has ensured full support for all media personnel, journalists, and reporters, providing all necessary facilities, transportation, and live broadcasting.”
Sheikh Mohammad Al-Lababidi, Secretary-General of the Lebanese Islamic Center for Media and Guidance, also described the day of the Funeral Procession as a great day of national solidarity to affirm resistance against the Zionist enemy, stating, “This event has transcended religious and sectarian divisions. Today, this occasion belongs to all honorable people of the world.”
Emphasizing the greatness of the event, he added, “We are talking about more than one million participants and the presence of over five hundred official figures. The participation of more than five hundred dignitaries in this limited geographical area, at the martyrs’ burial site, will create a magnificent scene.”
Nasser Qandil, editor-in-chief of the Lebanese Al-Anba magazine and one of the officials organizing the Funeral Procession, stated, “Ensuring order and organizing non-media committees have been crucial for holding a dignified Funeral Procession and preventing disruptions caused by the overwhelming number of participants. These committees have planned dozens of programs and activities.”
The prominent Lebanese expert further noted, “The committee for organizing the ceremony is not formed to increase the participation. Rather, this massive turnout is due to the people’s devotion (to these two martyrs). Thus, it is not a task for the committee, but rather, it is the hearts of the people that will manage it. We will witness hundreds of thousands filling the streets out of love and devotion. The committee’s mission is to prevent potential harm resulting from the high number of participants and to address logistical shortcomings.”
At the end of his speech, he stated, “I believe we will witness a day where love and sorrow come together. This gathering will be unparalleled in its kind.”
It is worth mentioning that in a press conference, Nasser Akhdar, head of the media committee for the funeral procession of the martyrs Sayed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayed Hashem Safieddine, stated, “The funeral procession of Sayed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayed Hashem Safieddine will begin at 9:00 AM on Sunday, February 23, Beirut time, and will continue until 5:30 PM. The event will be covered in at least four languages worldwide.”
