The exhibition was opened by the secretary general of the holy shrine; Sayed Mustafa Mortada Aal Dia-Uddin, the member of its board of Directors; Sayed Laith al-Mousawi, and the governor of Karbala, Mr. Nassif al-Khattabi.
The festival was held in the imam al-Hassan Hall (peace be upon him) at the holy shrine, under the supervision of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs, the al-Wafi foundation for documentation and studies, and the Al-Ameed scientific and intellectual association, under the slogan (the religious authority is a fort of the Islamic nation).
The supervisor of the exhibition and assistant to the head of the Department of the al-Wafi Foundation, Mr. Bader Fayad, said that the exhibition is one of the festival's events, and includes many artworks, paintings and photos that embody the heroism of fulfilling the fatwa of sufficient duty of defense, in addition to some publications that highlight the Blessed fatwa and the heroism of Iraqis and their sacrifices.
He added that the exhibition included paintings by photographers from inside and outside the province of Karbala, in addition to many brochures and stories about the fatwa and its fulfillment, as well as plastic artwork and photo posters.
The Al-Abbas's (p) shrine is keen to preserve and honor the sacrifices of the heroes of the Blessed fatwa by organizing cultural and artistic activities, which contribute to documenting their heroism and highlighting the role of religious authority in protecting the Islamic nation.
