AhlulBayt News Agency: The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) kidnaped at least 70 Palestinian citizens, including three women and two journalists, during a West Bank arrest campaign, which started on Saturday evening and continued into the morning of Sunday.
According to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) and the Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs, most of the arrests took place in Balata refugee camp in Nablus and Jenin refugee camp.
PPS and the Commission said that the IOF assaulted many detainees, family members and citizens, threatened to open fire at some of them, and wreaked havoc on personal belongings and furniture during raids on homes, adding that some citizens were kidnaped to pressure their relatives to turn themselves in.
In Jenin, Israeli forces stormed Kafr Dan town and kidnaped three brothers from the family of Kamamji after raiding their homes. They are the brothers of prisoner Ayham Kamamji, one of the six prisoners who broke out from the Gilboa prison in 2021.
Another citizen was taken prisoner during an IOF raid on his home in Burqin town, west of Jenin.
The IOF also carried out a large-scale arrest campaign in Jenin City and its refugee camp. One of the detainees was a woman identified as Umm Nidal Ka’kaban, who was released later.
In Tulkarem, Israeli soldiers kidnaped a young man identified as Talal Dhanabah at the Annab checkpoint, east of the province.
In Tubas, the IOF kidnaped four young men during a raid in Tamun town. Two others were reportedly injured when Israeli soldiers clashed with local youths and resistance fighters.
In Nablus, several citizens were kidnaped from their homes in Balata camp during an IOF campaign that continued for over seven hours. Two of the detainees were fathers, who were kidnaped to pressures their sons to turn themselves in.
Another detainee in Balata camp identified as Salah Abu Zeitoun was assaulted, but he was released later.
In Ramallah, Israeli forces kidnaped three citizens from Birzeit town and journalist Tareq al-Sharif from al-Bireh City.
Meanwhile, the IOF kidnaped two citizens from al-Deheisha refugee camp in Bethlehem and two others, including journalist Basem Adkaidek, from al-Khalil City.
Six others were also kidnaped from different areas of al-Khalil, including four Gazan workmen who were detained following an IOF raid on a house in al-Kum village.
In Al-Quds, Israeli police forces kidnaped a young man from the village of Nabi Samuel and another young citizen from Bab al-Amud area in the Old City.
In 1948 occupied Palestine, police forces kidnaped four Palestinian female university students and one young man on allegations of incitement to terrorism during raids in the Nazareth, Yafa an-Naseriyye, Iksal, and al-Aziz.
