AhlulBayt News Agency: The Hamas Movement has condemned the new Israeli plans to expand illegal settlements in Bethlehem and al-Quds and urged the Palestinian Authority (PA) to end its frivolous security cooperation with the occupation regime.
“The Zionist occupation authority’s approval of tenders for the building of more than 1,000 settlement units in Efrat and Beitar Illit in Bethlehem and Gilo in east al-Quds reflects its persistence in pursuing its aggressive and Judaizing practices against our people and land,” Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem said.
Qasem described such Israeli settlement plans as a “message to those who chase the mirage of security and political agreements with the criminal enemy.”
“While we condemn this blatant encroachment on our occupied land, we again call on the Palestinian Authority to end the path of security coordination with the Israeli occupation, which only serves its agenda at the expense of our legitimate national rights,” the spokesman said.
He also called on the international community and the UN to assume their responsibility in this regard and take effective action to end the occupation and curb its practices and violations against our people, land and holy sites.
