The delegation of the holy shrine arrived today in the area of Harf al-Masirah on the Syrian coast to distribute more than 1,500 food baskets.
The aid of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine covered more than 40 Syrian regions, while the Holy Shrine aims to deliver its assistance to one hundred thousand stricken families.
The distribution of aid to the families affected by the earthquake in Syria is carried out by the delegation of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, in accordance with an organized mechanism, and in coordination with the relevant authorities in the Syrian city of Latakia and other areas, as the staffs of the Shrine's delegation are doing their best to reach as many of the affected as possible, to provide assistance to them.
The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine relief convoy set off a few days ago towards Syria to extend a helping hand to the victims of the earthquake, in response to the appeal of the supreme religious authority in Najaf and the directives of His Eminence Ahmad al-Safi.
The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine sent the first convoy loaded with tons of food, clothing and medicines, and also reinforced the materials via two planes loaded with 26 tons of various needed materials.
The first convoy included more than (1555) tons of relief materials, and more than 220 individuals representing the service and humanitarian effort, to transport food and medicines, and secure shelter supplies, to establish camps for people who lost their homes as a result of the earthquake.
