"Washing and cleaning works are carried out at the beginning of each of the four seasons during the year, and in special cases depending on the weather conditions that require it," said assistant head of the Courtyard Care Department; Sayed Zain al-Abideen Adnan al-Quraishi.
He added,"the process of washing the holy dome and the two minarets usually takes four days, but the weather these days is conducive to cleaning, so the washing and cleaning process will be completed in just two days".
As for the nature of the materials used in cleaning, Al-Quraishi explained that it "consists of filtered water and some natural materials free of any chemical addition in order to preserve the tiles of the Holy dome and the two minarets and not oxidize the gold layers in them".
