Kuwaiti scholar: World media should play more active role in counter-terrorism campaign

Member of the Albolaq Cultural Institute, Haj Ammar Kazem Abdolhosein Mohammad, speaking in the sixth webinar of the 36th Unity Conference, touched upon concepts such as Islamic brotherhood and fight against terrorism.

He said,” No other religion has called its followers to unity, cooperation and solidarity and warned about division, animosity and disagreement, as much as Islam”, adding that,” The world that Islam harbingers is a world dominated by cooperation, friendship and peace and free from hatred, tyranny, fanaticism, conflict and dispute.

The Kuwaiti scholar went on to say that morality based unity, nurtures coexistence, cordiality and solidarity among Muslims and lead them once again toward unity and cooperation.

Abdolhosein Mohammad said,” Islam rejects all types of violence and terrorism adding that Islam due to the respect for human life, innocent people and their life and property, is against terrorism.”

He further added that in order to avoid violence within Islamic community, there is no way but adhering to Islamic principles namely Islamic brotherhood and refraining from conflict and hostility.

The Kuwaiti scholar said in recent decades, influence and crimes committed trough terrorism has increased a phenomenon that threatens all aspect of people’s life and communities adding that fighting against terrorism is task that international community should take care of.
 
More than 150 Shia and Sunni scholars, professors and thinkers from across the globe are attending the 36th International Islamic Unity Conference held by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought exchanging views on “Islamic Unity, Peace and Avoidance of Division and Conflict in the Islamic World” announced as the theme for the event.
