AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A group of Sunni prayer leaders from Hormozgan province in southern Iran have paid a visit Islamic Research Foundation of Astan Quds Razavi to get familiar with its research activities.
During the visit, Amir Salmani Rahimi, a researcher and expert of the foundation, provided Sunni guests with a report about 37-year-old activities of the center. “This center was opened in 1984 and has been successful in producing around two thousand and five hundred works for its target groups.”
He added: “One of the main missions of the foundation is to promote pure thoughts in the area of Islamic unity and integrity. Most of the works of this center focus on an approach to introduce an Islamic identity from Islam and Quran”.
According to him, the Islamic Research Foundation has different departments including Quran, traditions (Hadith), salient Islamic figures, jurisprudence, Islamic thought and discourse, culture and conduct attributed to Imam Reza (AS), and inheritance.
Of the works publish for religious proximity, he named “Treatise on Proximity” and “A Dictionary on Jurisprudence of Quranic Words and Secrets of Rhetoric”.
Addressing the quests, Hossein Latifi, head of Islamic thought and discourse department, said: “Islamic Research Foundation of Astan Quds Razavi pays special attention to all respectful symbols of other religions. In addition to publishing different works, the main focus of this center is on communicating with Islamic Sunni scholars through various meetings”.
He stated: “One of the main concerns of the center is to implement shared projects with Sunni research centers because if we want to see the real spirit of unity we have to increase joint projects and minimize differences”.
Latifi placed emphasis on producing good works through Shia-Sunni cooperation based on similarities between the two schools of thought.
He expressed Islamic Research Foundation’s readiness to publish works and implement projects with a focus on Shia-Sunni commonalities.
