Iran opens Consulate General in Syria's Aleppo

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Islamic Republic of Iran opened its Consulate General office in Aleppo, Syria via a videoconference on Saturday.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, his Syrian counterpart Faisal Mekdad and Iran’s Ambassador to Syria Mahdi Sobhani took part in the virtual meeting.

Following the recent visit of Zarif to Damascus and consultations with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Faisal Miqdad, Syrian officials had agreed to open Iran’s consulate general in the country.
