IRCS thriving to assist Gaza civilians

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Secretary General of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) Mohammad Hassan Ghosian said here on Wednesday the IRCS is trying to forward rescue and relief services to the injured Gaza civilians in recent conflict.

Speaking with IRNA, Ghosian referred to the war conditions with which the Gaza Strip residents are entangled with and said that from the viewpoint of the international laws, the conventional laws have been breached and the rights of the civilians in that region are quite obviously violated.

At the same time, he said, Gaza is under both a geographical and a border siege and therefore, the humanitarian aids lines are faced with difficulty. “Therefore, the serous supervision of the UN forces and the other concerned organizations is needed,” he said.

Ghosian said that the Gaza civilians are war-stricken people and according to various agreements and conventions, including the Geneva Convention, assisting them is necessary.

The IRCS secretary general said that his affiliated society is negotiating with the regional Red Crescent Societies of the Islamic countries for establishment of a rescue line for the war victims and sending them the needed medicines.

About the needs of the Gaza civiliansm he said that according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society’s report to the International Red Crescent Society, they urgently need medicine, and the necessities of the war-stricken areas, such as serums and bandage, the most essential facilities for taking care of the wounded civilians, and especially children, ambulances, stretchers, sanitizers, and at this phase a shared work aimed at providing sanitary items and medicines, through mediation of the federation is proceeding, and the national societies urgently reply to the federation’s requests.

The Zionist regime has been invading the Gaza Strip cities for ten days now and is faced with the heavy missile response of the Palestinian resistance.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry statistics, the number of the martyrs during the past ten days of the Zionists’ attacks against Gaza has reached 219, 63 of whom are children.
