AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): More than 50 members of the European Parliament signed a memorandum calling for the imposition of sanctions on “Israel” if it implemented measures to annex Palestinian areas according to the declaration of the occupation government.
The memorandum, which was submitted to the Vice-President of the European Commission and the High Representative for the European Union’s foreign policy and security, Joseph Burrell, called on the member states of the European Union to recognize the State of Palestine in accordance with international law and United Nations resolutions, as well as the prohibition of settlement goods in European markets.
The signatories pointed out the necessity of stopping the implementation of the European-Israeli agreement, banning the export of arms to “Israel”, and excluding them from all European financing projects in the event that they implement the declared annexation procedures.
They pointed out the importance of the role that the European Union can play through its role in holding “Israel” its responsibilities in violation of human rights and international law, which the Union did not play during the past period as required.
