AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran's president referred to the naming of year 1399 by the Supreme Leader as the "Year of Surge in Production", stressing that despite the enemies' sanctions and problems made by coronavirus, we must turn this year into the year of surge in production in action with the especial efforts of all production sector, including agriculture, industry and services.
Speaking on Thursday at the inauguration ceremony of 22k-hectare irrigation and drainage networks in Fakkeh, President Hassan Rouhani said, "All people around the country, especially our dear people who guard the borders, and the public and private sectors and the armed forces will join hands to make the motto of Surge in Production happen".
The President stated, "The enemies must know that this great and powerful nation will never give up to their conspiracy and will make Iran and Ilam more prosperous day by day".
Referring to the inauguration of 22,000 hectares of main pressurised irrigation and drainage networks in Fakkeh in Dehloran cities, Dr Rouhani said, "In the year 1361, we were happy with the liberation of these areas from Saddam's troops and today our second happiness is with the development of these lands for the benefit of the dear people of Ilam".
Saying that a great investment has been made for this region since the beginning of the 11th government, the President said, "I thank all those dear ones who worked hard during this period to achieve this irrigation network. These areas, as I mentioned before, are where war and the Sacred Defense happened, and are blessed with the blood of our loved ones, soldiers, the Army and the IRGC, and our nomads and heroes".
Dr Rouhani said, "One of the projects that I have always pursued from the ministers of energy and agriculture was the Torrid Project, and I really want it to be completed by the end of this year, and this requires the dedication and sacrifice of all workers and engineers".
The President said that the reduction of unemployment statistics in Ilam province from 17.6 to 8.3 is very satisfying and said, "I thank all dear people, gardeners and dear farmers and all the people who have this burden to build the country and make it self-sufficient".
Dr Rouhani described the people of Ilam province as brave and supporters of the revolution and very loyal border guards for dear Iran and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and said, "In the past 2 to 3 months whenever I wanted to visit the dear people of Ilam, it was postponed, and today because of coronavirus. I hope we can be at the service of the dear people of the province in the future".
