Over five million non-Iranian pilgrims visit Imam Reza shrine annually

The Deputy Office for Non-Iranian Pilgrims’ Affairs of Astan Quds Razavi announced that over five million non-Iranian pilgrims visit Imam Reza shrine each year.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Deputy Office for Non-Iranian Pilgrims’ Affairs of Astan Quds Razavi announced that over five million non-Iranian pilgrims visit Imam Reza shrine each year.

According to Hoj. Seyed Mohammad Zolfaghari, “Imam Reza shrine is always a refuge and safe haven for Shia Muslims worldwide. Every year, many pilgrims from different countries come individually or in pilgrimage caravans to visit the shrine”.

He added that 65 percent of these pilgrims are Arabic-speakers from countries like Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Bahrain, the UAE, Yemen, Qatar, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, 25 percent are Urdu-speaking pilgrims from India and Pakistan, and 10 percent are Azeri-speaking pilgrims from other countries.

“The Deputy Office is responsible for welcoming and hosting these pilgrims. We strive to create a profound and spiritual pilgrimage experience through effective communication and diverse cultural services”, Hoj. Zolfaghari continued.

He stated that the services provided to non-Iranian pilgrims include welcoming pilgrimage caravans, holding rituals such as congregational prayers, group visitation (Ziyarat), organizing prayer and supplication programs, shrine tours, museum visits at Imam Reza shrine, etc.
