AhlulBayt News Agency: Four Palestinian resistance fighters were martyred on Sunday following an Israeli military campaign in Sir village, south of Jenin in the occupied West Bank.
Anadolu news agency quoted Jenin governor Kamal Abul-Rab as saying that the Palestinian Authority civil liaison service was informed about the martyrdom of four young men following an Israeli drone strike on a car in Sir village, adding that Israeli forces seized the martyrs’ bodies.
Earlier, the Palestinian health ministry received information about the death of two unidentified citizens in an Israeli military operation in Sir village.
However, some Palestinian media sources said that the Israeli occupation army targeted two cars in the village.
The Israeli army, for its part, claimed that its air forces bombed four gunmen who were under security surveillance in Jenin.
Local sources also said that an Israeli drone bombed an agricultural room in an area near Sir village before a large number of troops stormed and combed the area.
The sources added that fierce armed clashes between resistance fighters and Israeli soldiers lasted for several hours in the same area.
Footage circulated on the internet showed Israeli soldiers pulling the bodies of two martyrs and then putting them into plastic bags before transferring them to an unknown destination.
In a related context, senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi mourned the four resistance fighters who were martyred in an Israeli army raid in the West Bank village of Sir.
In a statement on Sunday, Mardawi said that the Palestinian people’s resistance would never stop in the West Bank despite the intensive Israeli oppressive and deadly campaigns.
Mardawi hailed the Jenin resistance as “unbreakable, stressing that the Palestinian people and their resistance would avenge the blood of the “heroic martyrs.”
