Extremist Jewish settlers attack olive farmers in West Bank village of al-Lubban al-Gharbi

A horde of extremist Jewish settlers savagely attacked on Saturday morning Palestinian farmers as they were collecting olives from a grove belonging to them in al-Lubban al-Gharbi village, northwest of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.

AhlulBayt News Agency: A horde of extremist Jewish settlers savagely attacked on Saturday morning Palestinian farmers as they were collecting olives from a grove belonging to them in al-Lubban al-Gharbi village, northwest of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.

According to local sources, settlers escorted by Israeli soldiers brutalized olive farmers in the Bara’ish area of the village and injured five of them.

The settlers also caused damage to the farmers’ vehicles and forced them to stop picking olives and leave the area.

The Israeli occupation forces and settlers had carried out 1,344 attacks on Palestinian citizens and their property in last September, according to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission.

Settler violence against Palestinians is a daily issue in the West Bank. Instead of taking action to combat their crimes, the Israeli military and security authorities aid and abet settlers in harming Palestinians and seizing their lands.

Settlers carry out a variety of violent acts against Palestinians under military protection, including physical assaults, stone throwing, threats and harassment, damaging of trees and crops, vandalism of cars, blocking of roads and even firing of live ammunition.

However, their crimes increase during the Palestinian olive harvest season.
