AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Grand Mufti of Oman condemned the Israeli regime’s assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas resistance movement’s political bureau.
In a post on X, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalili said the death of Haniyeh in the Israeli regime’s barbaric attack was tragic and saddening.
He stressed, however, that the Palestinian resistance will remain active and the path of Martyr Haniyeh will continue, Arabi21 reported.
Resistance is still alive and will continue its struggle on the path of liberating the holy land of Palestine, he added.
Such vicious attacks by the Zionists will only enhance the power, steadfastness and resolve of the resistance, as Martyr Haniyeh would say, Sheikh Al Khalili stated.
The senior cleric extended condolences to the Muslim Ummah, the Palestinian people and the resistance movements in the region on the martyrdom of Haniyeh.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on Wednesday morning that Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed when their residence was struck in Tehran.
The statement indicated that the attack is under investigation, with results expected to be announced later.
Haniyeh was in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
