Senior Shia cleric Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi had a meeting with Dr. Koulivand, the head of Iran’s Red Crescent Society and his accompanying delegation on Wednesday, November 29 in his office in Qom. The Shia source of emulation considered the activities of the Red Crescent to have numerous human aspects and said,” Some may not be familiar with the activities of our Red Crescent which are not exclusive to our own country, or just Shia Muslims and it includes all human beings and this is truly substantial.”
The Grand Ayatollah considered service to the people as one of Red Crescent's achievements and added,” You can clearly say that your organization is involved in both humanitarian services and religious propaganda. Your activity is the propagation of religion and does not need clarification.”
He said,” Alhamdulillah, the Red Crescent Society is more prominent than before, and this is a source of pride for us Muslims, Shias, and Iranians, and I hope that it will continue to develop in coming years.”
This Shia source of emulation referred to the services that the Red Crescent Society provides to Arbaeen pilgrims of Karbala and said,” The services you provide on the way to Karbala are very valuable.”
At the end, Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi concluded, “Try to dedicate your work to God. While your work is an administrative and humanitarian service, it is also a form of worship. May God accept this worship from you. I pray for you too.”
