AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A member of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen has responded the United States’ demand for the releasing of a seized Israeli vessel, emphasizing that the massacre of the people of Gaza must be stopped first, and then they can speak about the release of the ship.
According to a Tuesday report by the IRNA, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi wrote on his X (Twitter) account in response to the US request for releasing the Israeli ship and its crew members: In case that the United States and the Zionist regime halt the massacre of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and allow the delivery of water, medicine, and food into Gaza; then, they can discuss about the Israeli ship.
He also underscored that whatever the Yemeni Navy and Coastal Defence Forces carried out (concerning the seizure of the Israeli ship) is in line with the reciprocity principle.
Previously, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller addressed a press briefing, "The Houthi seizure of the motor vessel Galaxy Leader in the Red Sea is a flagrant violation of international law. We demand the immediate release of the ship and its crew and we will consult with our allies and UN partners as to appropriate next steps."
On Sunday, the Yemeni Navy and Coastal Defence Forces succeeded in seizing the Israeli cargo ship in the Red Sea and imprisoned 52 crew members of the vessel, announcing that the move was the beginning of further retaliatory measures against the Israeli regime.
