AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A global campaign for defending the Holy Quran has been launched by the Tehran based Arabic Radio.
The move comes following recent repeated acts of Quran desecrations in a number of European countries, including Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands.
The radio station said in a statement that it has launched the campaign following the address by Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi to the United Nations General Assembly last week, in which he denounced acts of sacrilege against Islamic sanctities, including the Holy Quran.
It called on its listeners and others to take a photo or video clip featuring them raising a copy of the Holy Quran and post it on social media with the hashtag #It-shall-never-burn.
Addressing the event in New York last Tuesday, the Iranian president called the Quran “a book that invites man to rationality, spirituality, justice, morality and truth,” which is based on three pillars of “monotheism, justice and human dignity.”
“What has the Quran said that has aroused the hatred of the arrogant and the lords of power and wealth?” he asked.
He slammed the acts of Quran desecration, noting that the Holy Book was “eternal” and “shall never burn.”
