AhlulBayt News Agency: Karbala residents and visitors praised the Southern Green Belt project of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, which is 27 kilometers long and 100 meters wide.

Nasser Hussein Miteb, head of the Green Belt Department, said, "more than 22 green oases have been opened daily from 6 pm to 12 pm after midnight, and Karbala families and visitors have begun to flock to the parks that are considered an outlet for them.

He added that "we were keen to provide a lot of services, including those that would make children happy, such as playgrounds and some things that contribute to creating an atmosphere of joy," noting that "His Eminence the Senior Official of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine directed that all services provided to families in the oases be free".

According to Miteb, the future plans include attracting manpower, as the project has multiple aspects, including environmental and social aspects, in addition to its economic importance of supplying the local markets with the best types of dates".

For his part, engineer Hisham Ajmi al-Ghanmi, one of the newcomers to the green belt oases, expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and its Senior Official; Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, for this huge project, which he described as a wonderful outlet for the people of Holy Karbala.

Al-Ghanmi added that these projects are important for the province, and contribute significantly to increasing green spaces and confronting climate change.
