AhlulBayt News Agency: The closing ceremony of the 28th edition of the Quran and Hadith competition of Al-Mustafa International University’s branch in Tanzania will be held next month.
Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Taqavi, the director of the branch, made the announcement in a meeting with Mufti of Tanzania Sheikh Abubakar Zubeiry on Saturday, inviting the senior cleric to take part in the ceremony.
Slated for June 4, it will be held concurrent with the demise anniversary of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, he noted.
Hojat-ol-Islam Taqavi described the Quran as the pivot of unity in the Muslim world and said holding the competition has helped to brought many Islamic figures together.
He also noted that the contest was held for Al-Mustafa International University’s students and their family members.
According to Hojat-ol-Islam Taqavi, the competition was held in ten cities of Tanzania.
Sheikh Abubakar Zubeiry, who accepted the invitation, also underlined the role of the Quran as the cause of unity and hope in the Muslim Ummah.
