AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Israeli forces shot and killed, on Saturday, a Palestinian young man while he attempted to pass through a military roadblock, southwest of Jenin city in the northern occupied West Bank, local sources reported.
On Saturday afternoon, soldiers positioned at the “Al-Rayhan” roadblock, near the illegal “Shaked” colony, established on land expropriated from Tura al-Gharbiya village, west of Jenin.
The slain young man, identified as Ahmed Muhammad Tayseer Atatreh, 33, from Ya’bad town, west of Jenin, was riding a bicycle when soldiers opened fire at him.
Reports state that the young man sustained critical injuries, however soldiers refused to allow citizens or paramedics to provide life-saving treatment, resulting in his death which was announced hours later.
The village mayor, Tareq Qabaha, stated that a seriously wounded Atatreh was denied medical treatment and left on the ground bleeding, dying from his wounds shortly afterward.
Mourners gathered at the Jenin Governmental Hospital and proceeded to the slain man’s family home in Ya’bad town, for a final farewell by loved ones.
The funeral prayer was performed at the local mosque before his body was laid to rest in the town’s cemetery.
In related news, Israeli forces stormed the town of Ya’bad, in addition to Jalboun, Faqqu’a, and Rummana villages in the Jenin Governorate, erecting flying roadblocks and searching vehicles and citizens’ identification.
