Syed Navab urges Hajj clerics to help pilgrims benefit most from Spiritual Journey

An Iranian Hajj official called on the clerics chosen to accompany the pilgrims in this year’s Hajj to help the pilgrims make the most of the spiritual journey.

AhlulBayt News Agency: An Iranian Hajj official called on the clerics chosen to accompany the pilgrims in this year’s Hajj to help the pilgrims make the most of the spiritual journey.

Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Abdol Fattah Navab, the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Hajj and pilgrimage affairs, addressed a gathering of Iranian Hajj clerics and assistants held in Tehran on Thursday.

He said that while in these days the enemies of Islam are targeting the culture and beliefs of families and are trying to spread the Western lifestyle, the Hajj clerics should use the pilgrimage as an opportunity to revive and promote Islamic teachings and traditions.

Hojat-ol-Islam Navab also described it as a divine blessing for the clerics to have been chosen to serve the Hajj pilgrims, adding that they should make planning for every minute of the pilgrimage and try to enhance the effects of their activities.

He added that the clerics should be prepared for meeting the ideological, faith-based and religious needs of the pilgrims in the best way possible.

According to Head of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Seyed Sadeq Hosseini, some 85,000 Iranians will participate in the Hajj this year.

That is the quota allocated to Iran by Saudi Arabia.

In 2022, Saudi Arabia received foreign pilgrims, including Iranians, for Hajj after two years of suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Figures show some 1.2 million Iranians are on a waiting list for travelling to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj pilgrimage. They have been waiting for years for their turn.

Hajj is a pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca that every able-bodied and financially able Muslim is obliged to undertake at least once during their lifetime.
