AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Egypt’s Awqaf Ministry says a plan for training one million little Quran qaris will be launched in the country.
The ministry said the plan will be launched for the second year in a row with some changes, according to Al-Ahram Newspaper.
The plan will be staged with the participation of 20,000 mosques across the country as 2 million Egyptian pounds have also been set as awards for participants.
The scheme includes lectures on ethics and values as well as educational trips with the aim of identifying talents in the field of Quran recitation, ibtihal, and religious culture.
The ministry said further details of the plan will soon be announced.
Egyptian Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Juma said the scheme seeks to continue the path of promoting the religion and serving the Quran that was being observed in the blessed month of Ramadan.
He noted that the plan aims to spot talents and prepare them for managing the affairs of mosques while also increasing the number of qaris across the country.
