AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): In an interview with ABNA News Agency on the sidelines of the 192nd expanded session of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, which was held in Iraq, a member of the Supreme Council of the Assembly, while expressing his gratitude to the host and organizers of this session, stated, “The issues that were discussed in this session in the presence of the dignitaries of the Shiite world to follow up the affairs of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) followers were excellent and useful.”
On the topics raised in the session, Hojat al-Islam Dr. Hamid Shahriari, the Secretary General of The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, said, “The reports presented at the session were excellent, especially Mr. Ammar Hakim’s report on Iraq was very attractive and pleasant; that the Iraqis have reached consensus and collective understanding and have been able to take over the majority of the session; and that the government of Iraq is along the country’s parliament and organizes social affairs inside Iraq and has started a wide range of services. We hope that the work that started in the last three months will continue.”
“We also benefited from Mr. Halbawi’s report on Syria,” Shahriari continued, “He spoke about the current situation in Syria and made requests for providing assistance to the Syrian people who are currently deprived of electricity and need to be assisted.”
“Mr. Hamadeh, the respected representative of Hezbollah, spoke about the situation in Lebanon. In Lebanon also there is a problem with electricity and energy. Problems have put pressure on the people of the country. The situation in Israel, which is collapsing internally, is a source of joy. We hope that Lebanese Hezbollah succeeds in advancing its new plan regarding the presidency and that the Lebanese government is stabilized so that we can witness that the people of Lebanon, both Muslims and non-Muslims, benefit from government services,” added a member of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
Further, on the activities and services carried out and offered by the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, Shahriari went on to say, “During the past years, fortunately, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly has carried out many works and projects even though the facilities are limited and there are many problems. On the other hand, the task and missions assigned to the Assembly are heavy. We hope that the non-Iranian members of the Supreme Council of the Assembly will participate in the activities and objectives of this organization, and we will be able to serve the AhlulBayt (a.s.) followers better and more in the entire world.”
ABNA reporter then asked Dr. Shahriari about his opinion on the words of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in the meeting with the members of the General Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, when he said, “We must follow the discourse of the of AhlulBayt (a.s.) school in the general direction of Islamic unity.”
In response to this question, Shahriari stated, “Actually, we should not only look around ourselves and inside Iran. Today, religious thought is progressing in the world, and in the Islamic world, it includes a set of ethnic groups and denominations. We must be so open-minded that we can gather all Muslims together and form a united front of them against the oppression and force that global arrogance is developing in the world and the unilateralism that it pursues in the field of its values and culture. Even we can attract allies from the outside of the Islamic world to help each other against oppression and arrogance.”
“Our discourse in Islamic unity is serious, strategic, and effective. By advancing our own ethnic or religious goals, we cannot have a broad resistance against global arrogance. In order for our resistance to be effective and lead to the prevention of the coercion of oppressors and the collapse of the usurping and child-killing Zionist regime, Muslims must join hands, and nations and governments stand together and be united against the enemies of Islam,” said in the end Hojat al-Islam Dr. Hamid Shahriari, the Secretary General of The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
