Friday prayer leaders in Brunei: Recitation of Quran should be Muslims’ daily habit

Friday prayer leaders in Brunei underlined the need for Muslims to make the recitation of the Holy Quran a daily habit.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Friday prayer leaders in Brunei underlined the need for Muslims to make the recitation of the Holy Quran a daily habit.

Followers of Islam should also draw lessons from the Holy Book’s teachings, said imams during the Friday sermon yesterday.

The recitation of the Quran should be in Tarteel (proper order) and fasih (eloquence), said the imams.

They noted that there are several methods of group recitations, which is commonly practiced in the society.

This includes dividing Juzes (parts), Surahs (chapters) or verses to be read among a gathering of family or friends.

However, imams said Khatam Al-Quran (reading the Quran from beginning to end) can only be attained if all members of the group complete the recitation of 30 Juzes of the QUran and group members must have listened to others complete the recitation.

Meanwhile, Tedarus is performed by taking turns and listening to each other’s recitation of the Quran.

Group members will help other members correct any errors in the recitation, said the imams.
