Lebanese Scholars call for Muslims’ vigilance in face of arrogant powers’ plots

The Assembly of Lebanese Muslim Scholars in a meeting on Wednesday condemned the acts of desecration of Islamic sanctities, calling on the Muslim Ummah to remain vigilant in the face of plots hatched by the enemies.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Assembly of Lebanese Muslim Scholars in a meeting on Wednesday condemned the acts of desecration of Islamic sanctities, calling on the Muslim Ummah to remain vigilant in the face of plots hatched by the enemies.

Vice-President of the Supreme Islamic Shia Council of Lebanon Sheikh Ali al-Khatib, the country’s Jafari Mufti Sheikh Ahmed al-Qabalan, and Head of the Union of resistance Scholars Sheikh Maher Hamoud, Sheikh Ali Yaseen were among the participants at the meeting.

The participants stressed in a statement that the recent insulting acts against Muslim sanctities are suspicious moves aimed at provoking religious conflicts.

They said the governments and Sweden and the Netherlands are complicit in the criminal acts and would ultimately regret their failure to stop them.

They called on the two countries to apologize to Muslims worldwide and prevent a recurrence of such incidents by criminalizing such conducts and punishing those behind them.

The statement reiterated that such measures would fail to undermine the sacredness of the Holy Quran and would only lead to enhanced unity among Muslims in resorting to the Holy Book.

It also called on Muslim governments to take appropriate measures against moves that desecrate Islamic sanctities.

The participants in the meeting further urged Muslim vigilance in the face of schemes and plots hatched by arrogant powers and the world Zionism that aim to incite religious and sectarian conflicts.

In recent weeks, cases of Quran desecration in a number of European countries, including Sweden and the Netherlands, have drawn widespread condemnations from Muslims and others all over the world.
