Morocco discusses developing military cooperation with Zionist regime

Morocco hosted a new military meeting with the Israeli enemy, on Monday and Tuesday, to discuss on developing military cooperation between Rabat and Tel Aviv.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Morocco hosted a new military meeting with the Israeli enemy, on Monday and Tuesday, to discuss on developing military cooperation between Rabat and Tel Aviv.

A statement by the General Command of the Royal Armed Forces (Army), published by the official Morocco Agency, stated that “a meeting of the committee following Moroccan-Israeli cooperation in the field of defense was held on January 16 and 17 in Rabat.”

During this meeting, which was chaired by Farouk Belkhair, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces, and Dror Shalom, Director of the Office of Political-Military Affairs at the Israeli Ministry of Defense, various fields of bilateral military cooperation, especially logistics and training, as well as the acquisition and modernization of equipment were discussed, according to the statement.

The two sides agreed to strengthen this cooperation further and expand it to include other fields, especially intelligence, air defense and electronic warfare.

Morocco has stepped up its military cooperation with the Israeli occupation state since the visit of the Inspector General of the Moroccan Armed Forces to the occupied territories, in September of last year.

Rabat and Tel Aviv concluded an agreement on military and security cooperation in November 2021, an agreement that angered Algeria, and was one of the reasons for its severance of relations with Morocco.

Morocco had signed a tripartite agreement, in late 2020, with the United States and the Israeli enemy, according to which Washington announced its recognition of the Moroccan Sahara, while Rabat announced its agreement to resume relations with Tel Aviv.
