AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The US Department of Treasury has imposed new sanctions on Iran under the pretext of human rights violations, in continuation of its interference in Iran's internal affairs and the policy of applying maximum pressure.
The US is considered to be the main country in the world which in line with its goals and interests has the most history of applying all kinds of sanctions against other countries.
The US Department of Treasury announced on Wednesday that it has placed the names of 5 Iranian military officials and a company related to the Islamic Republic of Iran's police force on the sanctions list.
The name of Mohammed Jaafar Montazeri, the Attorney General of Iran, can be seen in the list introduced by the US Treasury Department.
This American institution claimed that the reason for these sanctions is the suppression and arrest of rioters.
Since the start of the unrest in Iran, the Biden government has been taking any action is support of riots and has clearly stated that instead of focusing on negotiations and the diplomatic approach that it has always heralded, it is focusing on the unrest in Iran.
