AhlulBayt News Agency: Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs Wopke Hoekstra today reiterated his government’s position on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict stressing the illegality of Israeli settlements in the occupied territories.
This came during a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Riyad Malki on the sidelines of the Conference of the Assembly of States Parties to the International Criminal Court held in The Hague in which they discussed the latest political developments in the region.
Malki warned that the new Israeli regime will be more hateful, especially as it is going to include extremist terrorists who advocate the destruction of the solution, change the status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque, gives the green light to the deliberate killing of Palestinians, and form settler militias with the support and blessing of the new Israeli government.
He said that more than 10 Palestinians were killed in cold blood by the Israeli occupation forces within 75 hours, and this happens daily in Palestine in full view of the world without accountability, stressing that the international community must hold Israel accountable for its crimes and to end the policy of impunity from punishment.
For his part, the Dutch Foreign Minister affirmed that his government's position is clear on the illegality of the settlements, its commitment to the two-state solution, the importance of returning to negotiations to achieve peace, and an emphasis on issues of human rights and international law.
Malki also met with Dominique Hasler, Liechtenstein's Minister of Foreign Affairs, during which the two officials also discussed the latest political developments.
Hasler expressed her readiness to continue to work with Palestine and like-minded countries on the importance of supporting the work of the International Criminal Court and providing it with support and resources to enforce its mandate and achieve justice and redress for the victims.
