Bahrain's Mohammad Khatim back in jail

Mohammad Khatim is back in jail after appealing to Bahrain’s Prime Minister, Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to ‘look into his case’.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Mohammad Khatim is back in jail after appealing to Bahrain’s Prime Minister, Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, to ‘look into his case’.

The father of four, who is demanding to be returned to his job at Bahrain’s Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, staged another peaceful protest on Monday.

He merely held up a handwritten sign asking to be given audience before the premier.

Khatim was arrested several times in recent months for staging similar protests.

He alleges that he was wrongfully terminated from the ministry following a 2013 arrest, pointing to Manama’s discriminatory employment practices that target Bahrain’s Shiite majority.
