(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Amid a renewed offensive push across the eastern countryside of Idlib province, elite troops of the Syrian Army have snatched up six towns and villages during recent hours from takfiri militias.
According to reports from military-affiliated sources, the new assault by forces of the Syrian Army’s elite Tiger Forces Division across eastern Idlib province launched on Saturday morning has seen government troops seize six settlements in rapid succession.
The newly captured towns and villages have been identified as Zifr Segir, Zifr Kebir, Dabshiyah, Tal Salmu Janoubi, Rasm Abed and Buwaytiyah.
Equally important, Syrian Army assault troops also entered the Abu Duhur military airbase, this being linked to the same operation that led to the taking of the aforementioned settlements located in the countryside around the installation.
Overall, it appears that the Syrian Army has restarted its offensive in Idlib province after a rebel counter-offensive and general operational exhaustion pushed it to disengage from assault operations for more than a week.
