(AhlulBayt News Agency) - "Negotiations with the US have been restricted to nuclear talks," Qassemi said on Saturday.
Qassemi's remarks came in response to a question whether there have been negotiations between the Iranian and the US diplomats outside the framework of nuclear talks.
The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman reiterated that Iran's diplomatic contact with the US has come to an end after the nuclear talks was over.'
In relevant remarks in November, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei rejected certain remarks that negotiations and compromise with Washington would resolve problems, and said the "liar, disloyal and cheater" US is itself a crisis-hit country.
"Negotiations with the US will not resolve our problems, because firstly, they are liar, disloyal and cheater and stab in the back, and secondly, the US, itself, is crisis-stricken and how can a crisis-hit country resolve another country's problems," Imam Khamenei said in Tehran, addressing a large gathering of Iranian school students and teachers on the occasion of Students Day in Iran.
Stressing that international assessment centers and even the Americans, themselves, have admitted the political, economic, international and moral crises in the US, he said that Washington whose debts have approached its GDP cannot settle the problems in Iran and it is merely after looting Iran's wealth and resources to rescue itself from the crisis.
Imam Khamenei also referred to the US political and international problems, and said, "Today, in any part of the world when a nation stands up against a tyrant government, its first slogan is 'Death to the US'. Is there any crisis worse than this? Now the Americans are in a situation that they have become desperate about the developments in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen and North Africa. Isn't this situation a crisis?"
Noting that 6 months has passed since the start of the implementation of the nuclear deal with no tangible change in the Iranian people's everyday lives, he said, "The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as an experience proved again the fruitlessness of negotiations with the Americans, their disloyalty and the necessity for distrusting the US promises and showed that the way for the country's progress and improving people's living conditions is paying attention to the domestic potentials and not the enemies who are continuously rocking the boat for Iran in the region and the world.
