(AhlulBayt News Agency) - As the Iraqi security forces are aiming at liberating the mainly-Shi’ite town of Tel Afar in western Mosul, ISIS is calling on its foreign fighters in the town to withdraw to Syria.
A local source has revealed to al-Sumaria News that ISIS commander in Tel Afar, who is also a foreigner, delivered a speech during Friday’s collective prayer and urged the group’s foreign terrorists to leave the battlefield and move back to the Syrian territories under the control of the terrorist Group.
According to the source, ISS insurgents are advised to use Ba’aj route to head back to Syria.
However, the Iraqi terrorists from the town are required to stay and continue the fight against government forces who have already recaptured Tel Afar airbase and are now encircling the town.
According to the source, the decision was made by ISIS commanders after there were reports of growing disputes between Iraqi and non-Iraqi militants, mainly on their shares from spoils.
Iraqi forces, in cooperation with the pro-government Shi’ite militias of Hashd al-Shaabi, previously reported that they have completely cut ISIS supply routes between northern Iraq and the group’s held areas in Syria, a significant step to further isolate ISIS insurgents in Mosul and Tel Afar.
