(AhlulBayt News Agency) - ISIS continues to lose its military capacity and due to the latest defeats the group has suffered, it is now resorting to arming children to use them in the war while the leaders are transporting their families out of the city.
Ghayas Surchi, a Kurdish official from Mosul, said on Saturday, August 27, that a large number of IS leaders have been killed and many others have escaped from the group since they were charged of fleeing the battlefield.
The official explained that most of the children trained by IS are now being used in the battles against Iraqi forces, affirming that most of the militants killed in the recent Iraqi forces offensive against IS in Gwer and Makhmour fronts were children under 18.
IS has divided the children into two groups; one is being trained to conduct suicidal attacks and the other is being prepared to take part in the battles, Surchi said.
Surchi added that the militants have started evacuating their families from Mosul, fearing the major anticipated offensive of retaking the city, and taking them to Raqqa, the group's stronghold in Syria.
