Syria: Army Continues Advance in Homs, Aleppo, Hama

The Syrian army units, backed by its air force, continued chasing ISIL, al-Nusra Front and other terrorist groups excluded from the ceasefire agreement across the country, destroying their equipment and killing a number of their members.

On Thursday, an army unit ambushed the ISIL terrorists in the Eastern countryside of Hama province, a field source said.

According to the source, the ambush resulted in the destruction of a truck loaded with weapons and ammunition intended to be sent to the ISIL terrorists in al-Sheikh Hilal village in Hama Eastern countryside and the death of a number of terrorists.

Army units also killed a number of ISIL’s members in al-Tar and al-Hayal mountains, al-Mothalath, Wadi al-Zakara and the area surrounding Tadmur (Palmyra) city in Homs countryside.

Also in the past 24 hours, the army units carried out intensive operations against the ISIL in the Eastern countryside of Homs.

The ISIL’ sites and dens were destroyed in al-Tar and al-Hayal mountains to the West of Tadmur city.

Many of ISIL terrorists were killed and their weapons and ammunition were destroyed in al-Mothalath, Wadi al-Zakara and the area surrounding Tadmur.

In Aleppo, a leader of the ISIL terrorist group named “Hassan Abboud”, who is identified as the “Wali (emir) of Homs”, was killed in an army raid in the Southeastern countryside of Aleppo province.

Media said Abboud was killed along with a number of his companions, while others were injured, in the raid which took place at the site of Khanasser town.

The terrorist Abboud was responsible for the attack launched by ISIL terrorists on Khanasser a few weeks ago.

He was the leader of the formerly “Dawood Brigade” that is affiliated to the “Islamic Front” in Idlib before he pledged allegiance to ISIL last year.
